The Palace

Originally opened on Boxing Day 1912.

The Palace is one of the earliest purpose-built cinemas in the country.

Retaining many of it's original features, the building has been sympathetically converted for use as a general community venue, suitable for a wide range of social, artistic and commercial activies.

Even though the Palace has been converted for other uses, it still serves as an occasional cinema, with films being shown about once a month.

Here is a wonderful opportunity for a new generation to experience the rhythmic click click click of the old style projection cameras !

Of course, nostalgia lovers are in for a treat!
